Artist Found- Xavier Deneux

Today while  going through Pinterest, I came across Xavier Deneux's works.

Key takeaways- I loved the way he combined, bold shapes with bright colour to create simple yet eye-catching images for kids books. I liked the graphic look of his works.

Information-Though I didn't find any website, Instagram or similar kind of dedicated place to view his works, I found some sites sharing bits of information about him.

So here is a link which gives brief intro about Xavier Deneux

Illustrator- Matt Johnson

Today while going through Pinterest feed I came across Matt Johnson's work. I loved the way he uses texture in his works. He uses of limited palette while creating beautiful scenes. Also the use of bold graphic shapes is another thing I admire. Below you can find his works- Website-  http://mattillustration.uk/ Instagram-  https://www.instagram.com/mattillustrationuk/

First post- Why Illustration Journal?

My illustration journey started around 2010 when I came across illustrations of one of my favourite artist Pascal Campion. Ever since I have constantly pursued the topic of illustration. While I was working at my full time job as Graphic Designer, illustration is something I always loved and created. From around mid of 2018 is the time, I started to pursue illustration as a full time engagement, rather than a hobby. Over all these years I have came across various artists, information materials, blogs, interviews which have helped me broaden and strengthen my view about the field of illustration. However, due to lack of proper record keeping, I tend to loose those links many times. Also there are times, I just forget about any valuable piece of information, that I have come across. In this blog I will keep together all these sources. I will also journal my takeaways from these sources to help me remind and rewind in future.
